The Bristol Hippodrome
1st-5th October 2024

BLOC Productions is delighted to be bringing Stephen Fry and Mike Ockrent’s acclaimed revival version of Douglas Furber and L. Arthur Rose’s Me and My Girl back to the Hippodrome stage. Fry’s sharp and fast-paced script, combined with toe-tapping and uplifting music by Noel Gay (including the famous Lambeth Walk, The Sun Has Got His Hat On and Leaning On A Lamp Post), make this a sublime and sunny treat for all fans of musical comedy!

Bill Snibson, a Lambeth market stall trader, is revealed to be the new Earl of Hareford and his newly-discovered aristocratic relations are horrified. Bringing him to Hareford Hall, they attempt to educate Bill into the ways of the gentry and to separate him from his cockney girlfriend Sally. The result is comic chaos that will appeal to all ages! With a host of hilarious characters, catchy tunes, witty one-liners and spectacular choreography, this is a show not to be missed.

This recently revised production has enjoyed successful runs in the West End (receiving two Olivier Awards) and Broadway (winning three of its eleven Tony Award nominations) and most recently in Chichester featuring Matt Lucas.

BLOC Productions has an enviable reputation for staging spectacular award-winning shows for all generations. Their last three shows delighted audiences and critics alike: A Christmas Carol received dazzling reviews, Elf – The Musical played to full houses for every performance and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang won the Rose Bowl for Best Musical.

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals. The Wednesday evening performance will be signed.
